G2 Esports have been confirmed as the first team to compete at DreamHack Masters Marseille, the organisation has announced.
The DreamHack Masters Malmö champions are the first invitee of the 16-team event, which will run on April 18-22. With $250,000 up for grabs, the playoffs will take place during the last two days of the tournament at Le Dôme de Marseille.
G2 had a slow start in 2018, failing to get through the quarter-finals at both the ELEAGUE Major 2018 and StarSeries i-League Season 4. Tomorrow, the Frenchmen will compete at IEM Katowice, in what should be their last event before traveling to Marseille.
The amount of invites to be given out by the organisation is unknown as of now, as well as the details regarding the European and North American qualifiers. As for the Asian closed qualifier, it is set to run on March 6-8.
DreamHack Masters Marseille will be the organisation's first event of 2018, with DreamHack Open Tours succeeding the $250,000 event in May.
